Final year project – Setup and configured the back end Web server and Database Management system including router and dynamic DNS settings, uses HTML and CSS for web content and styling for front end user, PHP and SQL for server side scripting, data insertion and display and some JavaScript for optimisation. The web application resides upon a Windows 7 machine using Apache 2.2 and MySQL 5.5.
Java Web server – Developed a concurrent server in java that when run will accept HTTP requests from clients that direct to the servers port number, the server will then correctly respond to the users request, whether it’s to send an error message or sending a 200 OK message, Displaying the index.html file or other requested file, changing the header documents extensions to correspond with the requested extension and a log file to record transactions. The server also uses threads to ensure correct concurrency.
